Anyone recently gave birth in Texas ?

Hey, just wondering if anyone has recently gave birth in Texas. How long after the baby was born did you get the birth certificate? We need to travel out of the US around 7 weeks after baby is born. But can’t get passport till baby has a birth certificate. The website says it can take like 8 weeks to get certificate. Is that true? Or is that the worst case scenario?

I did 3 years ago and it took about 5 weeks. But also keep in mind how long getting the passport takes..

I had my daughter in March 2020 and we got it about a month later, so 4-5 weeks. I'm in houston.

A lot of government agencies are severely behind with the pandemic and still trying to catch up. I’m in PA but I had a baby July 2020 and it took 3 months, previous babies were 4-6 weeks, just FYI

No advice on how long your birth certificate will take. But, pre-pandemic it could take up to 10 weeks to get a passport, I’m pretty sure it took mine like 6 weeks to receive. Again, this was pre COVID. From above comments, it sounds like it’s going to take about the same amount of time to get the birth certificate. I would have a back up plan, because honestly, I don’t think baby is going to get a passport in time.
