Pros and cons of 1 vs 2 children?

Love to hear people's thoughts and experiences. My husband is ready for #2, and while I'm very excited about it I'm also kinda mourning being able to devote all my love and energy to my daughter. She is such a mama's girl!!! I imagine not being able to assist her when she asks for help because I'm breastfeeding and other similar situations. I'm nervous about the logistics of raising 2 little ones while also very excited to have another baby and the potential sibling bond. I was also starting to accept that she may be an only child because my husband was on the fence for so long about a 2nd. I was actually just about to call to get information on returning to school when my husband said he was ready ttc. Just to complicate matters, our daughter was conceived via IVF. We have agreed to try the 3 embryos we have left, but if they don't work we will not pursue further treatments. So I'm all over the place, even though I know I do want a 2nd. Daughter will be 2 in December. I'm 37 so time is running out... Is this normal? Am I overthinking it? What are the pros and cons to 1? To 2?

Its easier to handle 1 but so much more fun handling 2(or 3 in my case) 
Your child won't be alone if you pass. 
Theyll hopefully have a great healthy bond with their sibling. 
I am all alone with virtually no family.

I'm an only child and raising my kid that way was never an option for me. My first 2 are 18m apart, and I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd(my oldest will be 3 and middle child 18 m). It's good for children to learn that they're needs won't always be immediately met and to take turns. And personally, having all the attention on me into my teen years was stressful. Plus, growing up my kids will always have each other. Sure, some siblings don't get along even as adults, but there's a chance. I know that when my parents die I'll be the only one taking it on. My husband will support me of course, but that's not the same

I very much only wanted one, but my husband has siblings so he wanted our oldest to have a sibling. I was worried how they would get along, as they are 3 years apart in age. But so far they are great friends and love being together.

I have a 2 year old (3 in Feb) & a 2 month old. I personally would’ve waited if given the chance, the cons for me I feel like I don’t have the energy or time for my toddler. My baby prefers mama for everything so, I’m always with baby. My toddler doesn’t pay much attention to his baby brother right now, sure he shushes him every now & then. Brings me things baby needs. But he rather play with his toys, go on his iPad & go outside. 🤣 
Whenever his brother cries he’ll tell me “mommy, take it! Take it!” 😂

It’s easy handling 2. Especially if they’re close in age because mine keep each other company a lot.

So to me, the only con to having more than one child is cost. I’m an only child and that was my parents excuse and I did NOT like being an only child. I’m stubborn as hell, I have awful conflict resolution skills because I never learned it with a sibling. I have 2 girls right now and pregnant with our 3rd (boy). I absolutely love seeing my girl interact and play together and how much they truly love each other. They at 3 years old and 16 months so we’ll see what teenage years bring lol but I could never just have 1.

I love having two, my 8 month old is my 3 year olds biggest fan. He just lights up, when she is around. I do have multiple heart attacks everytime she plays with him, but he loves it. I would say go for it. And it's so sweet to have a small baby again. I'm kinda sad he is growing up so fast now, although I'm also looking forward to the time he'll sleep through the night.

I’m in your shoes girly! My son is 5 years old already and we’ve been trying to conceive with no luck :( but I have had those worries too , my son is a mommas boy! But he’s been ready for a sibling forever 😂

I am recently a family of 4. My baby girl just turned 3 months old. My boy is 3 years old. I am just now feeling like I have a handle on balancing them. There are still days I cannot meet both of their needs simultaneously. Those days I feel like the worst mom. I’m sure that sounds ridiculous to some people but I’m very critical of myself. We chose to have another because we didn’t want him to be alone and I’m so close with my sister. My husband has 2 siblings but they’re 10 years younger than him. He says he feels like their uncle not brother. He was lonely growing up.
