Am I wrong for this?

A guy friend of mine was engaged and his fiancé was pregnant way back when around 4 years ago. Well a month after they found out she was pregnant the girl left and cheated. The little girl is half like he is and I see some similarities and the guy she cheated with was white. He’s always tried to date me and I tell him no because I disagree with him knowing she’s potentially his daughter and not going to court. He says there’s nothing he can do bc she won’t answer and there’s a good chance she’s his daughter. I just try to tell him that as soon as he’s happy she will be knocking on his door wanting back child support as well I mean I seen it happen with my dad and others. Everyone keeps telling me I’m selfish to constantly bring it up (known him for 11 years) but I would never be with someone who knows he has a daughter and doesn’t want to do anything about it. Is it true that he can’t do anything? I just feel steps could be taken.. or I’m wrong?
