Breastfeeding and stool softner

Waiting on a response back from my OB but taking forever so I figured maybe if anyone knows if it’s safe to take a stool softener while breastfeeding? The pain meds are giving me the absolute worst constipation of my life and it’s extremely uncomfortable after a csection a week ago
