I was taught that its pregnancy that *could* impact the way the hair holds color. I didnt see it actually happen for a long time, actually until my second pregnancy it happened to me. Tried to get my balayage retouched and the front 2 quadrants of my hair would not lift passed a level 8 🤬 . Like just wouldnt.

I don’t think this makes much sense. Your hair is already non living, and not impacted by hormones. Any new growth, I assume, could be different.

I’ve heard some people say your hair goes through changes after pregnancy too. I wonder if that’s true? Anyone know?

I tried dying my hair during pregnancy and my hair didn’t take the dye as well as it normally does. Colours turned out darker or lighter than the box said and bleach wouldn’t lighten as well as normal.
I’ve never had an issue dying my hair during my period though.

This is true for most during or after pregnancy, but not during your period.

Pregnancy, medication, and vitamins. It’s all “long term” or build up of che Micaelas or hormones that cause this. The hair shaft grows over time. 2 weeks- 4months for roots so if you been taking medicine/vitamins or are a few weeks (or more) pregnant- that can definitely effect dye. Periods typically don’t last long enough to effect hair the hair shaft enough to where we’d see it.
