Foley balloon experience?

Question

I’m getting the foley balloon put in tonight, but because my cervix is so posterior they said they would give me an epidural before putting it in. My question is, does this mean I won’t feel any contractions at all the whole time?! Or is it a different epidural they give when giving birth?

Update: had baby on 10/11/21 @10:43pm. The pitocin caused my uterus to slightly rupture. I was dilated to 9cm and rushed to emergency c-section. I labored from 2:30am all the way to 10:00pm the next day. I would not recommend inducing if you are trying for a VBAC. I was really hoping I could deliver vaginally but was unsuccessful down to the last centimeter. 😞 I lost a lot of blood in the OR and delivery was absolutely traumatic. If I would have know what it would have been like I rather scheduled my c-section. I didn’t get to hold my baby for a while after he was delivered Bc they had to repair my uterus from the tear. In my opinion, just wait till baby is ready. But thankfully, a week later, we are both doing good. I’m just scared to see if I can have another baby, Bc my doctor said that I might not be able to. 😢

I literally just had one last night so 😂😂 in my experience I was not 100% numb but parts of my legs and belly I could touch and not feel a thing. They can also turn it down for pushing so you can feel what you’re doing

GET THE EPIDURAL FIRST. I had mine with no pain meds and it was worse than the actual birth!

What is meant by posterior cervix? Like it is closed and no dilation or effacement? Or does it mean the shape etc?
