6 month still catnaps? When does this end?

Tell me this is going to end soon. My 6 month still taking 30 min naps, if I get a 40 min once a day it’s like super good day. So she is still on a 4 nap schedule with no more than 2 hours activity between naps( she will get super cranky if it’s longer) it just seems like we’ve tried everything longer stretches short stretches between naps, dark room, white noise, she is not hungry, very active during the day.

The catnaps all add up to short wake windows. You could try spoiling her for a few days with car naps and held naps to try to reset her but it might make some bad habits too, catch 22.
I read once when my firstborn was doing this too that babies who don’t take long naps tend to be the intelligent, curious, and/or highly social ones because they just want to be up and going and involved and learning! Turned out true for mine for sure. Stands to reason that contented chill or introverted babies would be more inclined to longer stretches of sleep.

She’s probably ready to drop a nap. It takes time to get used to the longer wake windows and for naps to lengthen, sometimes a few weeks, but if you stay consistent it should pay off. Usually the first wake windows is the shortest, so maybe keep that one to 2 hours, but then try to lengthen the next ones just by 15 mins or so, and then have an earlier bedtime to compensate for the dropped nap. The first few days it’ll probably be a very early bedtime, but it gets easier! We dropped from 3-2 naps when my daughter was 6.5 months because she was only catnapping. After 3 weeks she was taking 2 90-120 min naps consistently  with predictable wake windows and a reasonable bedtime.
