Stool softener alternative?

I had a c section on Oct 6th and I have been taking the Colace something like that since I was in the hospital and they also prescribed it for home but it has done NOOOOOO EFFECT AND I NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM!!!!! 
Does anybody know any alternative??? I am not really breastfeeding so I guess I can take anything at this point 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Drink magnesium citrate. It’s awful but it does the trick. I ended up in the ER a week after my csection with horrible constipation and ended up getting an enema. I swear that was the worst experience ever, worse than the csection. The magnesium citrate is what they recommended after so I didn’t have the issue again. You can buy it anywhere - target, Walmart, grocery stores, pharmacies.

Colace is useless,.we don't even Carey it in the hospital anymore.
Sennakot, miralax or lactulose will have you going in 24 hours.

There’s lots of otc meds and drinks you can take, but I would also recommend a daily probiotic. For me those, plus water work better than anything.

Míralax worked better than colace for me. It’s just an OTC, flavorless powder you mix into water or juice.

My doctor had me on Miralax instead of Colace. I’m pretty sure you can buy it over the counter. Other than the first poop, I didn’t have any problems.
