WIC Checks...

Not sure if controversial but it's something that really grabbed my attention. I've never been on WiC but have a friend whose recently divorced starting to use them. Today I went to the store today and watched her use her checks.She was too get the very basics : 2 gallons milk, 1 dozen eggs, 1 juice bottle, 1 box of cereal and $9 is produce. She gets 3 checks and they alternate between items but what really bothered me was the $9 in fresh produce of the MONTH! She got 3 bananas, a head of lettuce and a few apples. This just shocked me at how little she receives😳I understand that very little help goes a long way when you're struggling but man I feel for her. She doesn't qualify for any other government assistance but she definitely needs it! Do you believe WIC should raise the amount of fresh produce given to it participants?
