so my baby was born in 2021 so I didn’t get a chance to file her for last years taxes. I file my 2 year old but i’m getting monthly payments for her now so I know hers won’t be included. my child’s father (we are together) wants to file our 9 month old but I don’t feel like it’s fair.. considering that i’m a stay at home mom right now and he’s a cdl driver making a good amount of money.. I mean I can split it in half with him but he wanted to actually file her. also I provide most of the items for both kids. he provides but barely.. I buy all of their clothes, diapers, wipes, shoes.. I have to ask him to do stuff. he just got this cdl job so he’s ok with buying NOW if I ask. but before I provided every single thing for them. he has brought our daughters tv and bed for her room and a few toys and an ipad. My question is though if he files her next year will I be able to file her another year? I think it’s pretty selfish of him. i’ve been out of work due to no babysitter and currently trying to find childcare that’s affordable.
