Is a super tampon too much for the first day of period?
I started using tampons consistently for the first time as an adult. I know TSS is rare, but I'm always on the lookout for symptoms just in case. I put in a regular (today is the first day of my period) because I try to be mindful of my flow and not assume how much I'll bleed in the first couple of days. I ruined my panties and shorts after 4 hours, so I took out the tampon and used a super. I didn't leak a ton of blood, just enough to stain my clothes. I replaced that super with another super tampon in 4 hours, but it looks like I may be bleeding less because I used a super.
I usually don't leave my tampons in longer than 4 hours, but I know using a highly absorbent pad can cause TSS. It may be nothing, but I started feeling weird, like I had the chills, and once I took it out, the feeling kind of went away. It could just be my room is a bit hot, but I don't have a fever by the feel of it and I know it takes a few days for symptoms to actually show up. Should I just use regular from now on. I swear I'm just going to go back to wearing pads because the added stress is not good for me. 😫
