Random spotting? What does it mean?

Last night I had random light pink spotting when I wiped that then turned into a light brown colour, it only lasted a few hours then stopped.. now tonight around the same time I have that random spotting again, what can this mean? I don’t think I’ve experienced this before, don’t have any period symptoms or anything.. just a bit emotional lol
