Any talking tips for my 9 month old?

All my 9 month old can say is mama and then a series of dinosaur shrieks and growls 😂 I read to him 3 times a day and talk him through everything we do all day. I just can't get him to talk. Tips???

Um, that’s totally normal! My kid didn’t say mama consistently that early. He’s 15 months now and knows well over the average amount of words. Look up the aap guidelines on this. And for more relatable resources, look up “speech sisters” on Instagram

My daughter just turned 9 months and I hear her sometimes say “maaa maa” when she’s upset, but otherwise she’s just screaming and making all tons of funny noises. I don’t think you’re child is behind at all. When I took her to her 9 month appointment she wasn’t even making the “maaa maaa” sound and her ped said it was fine.

By 15m our pediatrician said my daughter should have 3-5 words. Just saying mama is totally normal for a 9mo.
