Travel system or just an infant carseat

So I’m curious on mother’s opinions. Do y’all think travel systems are better or just buying an infant car seat?

Travel system. The stroller can be used after they’re out of the car seat seat through toddler age. Our daughter is 2.5 and still uses it.

I personally did an infant seat only. It snows in the winter & have no use of a stroller. Once it warms up I can get a more long term stroller. I hate spending money on items that are not worth it. Which is why I decided against the Doona.

I would concern myself more with a stroller you will use for years than a car seat you might get a year out of if you have a tiny kid. I used an infant seat that was compatible with our stroller, and it was nice to have the option to click his seat on for a quick run into a shop. That said, babies really are much better off laying flat and out of the car seat unless they are in the car driving somewhere. The vista offers that optimal positioning using either the bassinet attachment or the stroller seat. You could easily buy a convertible seat and just the stroller/bassinet if you want to go that direction. That’s probably what we would do if we had a second baby. As a note, there are other brands that the stroller seat lays all the flat. I loved our vista and truly believe that spending a little more is totally worth it for form and function, but this general idea is available at a variety of price points. My second choice for this type would probably be baby jogger.

We didn’t bother with an infant car seat so obviously didn’t get a travel system. We didn’t see the point in buying a car seat that wouldn’t last long when convertible car seats have such a longer useful life. The one we got is rated down to 4lbs and will serve our baby well for years. 
For a stroller we got the nuna Mixx next with the extra bassinet attachment for when she was little, she loved it and napped in there on walks frequently. Now with the regular seat this stroller should last a good long time.

Definitely the system! It’s so convenient to click them from the car to the stroller. Especially since you aren’t supposed to put the car seat in a shopping cart. Then you can also use the stroller as they get bigger without the car seat. Amazing!!

I would definitely do a system, you’re gonna want both anyways and it’s really handy if you go places like the mall and say baby is sleeping you can just click the car seat in to your stroller. We had the graco modes with our first and this time I got the monbebe blaze travel system, but I do prefer the graco out of the two.
