How common is spotting in the 1st Trimester?

This is my third time spotting in 12 weeks of pregnancy. Baby is doing good, cervix closed. But am still freaking out.

I have had some brown discharge on and off (I’m 9w3d) it flipped me out the first time I noticed it so I called my dr they got me in for a scan everything was perfect. My dr told me that 30% of women spot or bleed during pregnancy. She said the only time she is truly concerned is if it’s bright red fresh blood with or without clots and enough to fill a pad.   It definitely causes a mass amount of anxiety though ughhh!

I spotted my entire first trimester with my first and had a bright red gush a couple weeks ago with this pregnancy. So I’m guessing it’s more normal for me but man is it scary!

It really depends! It’s more common than we believe but it’s still not considered “normal.” I spotted a ton with my oldest and I’ve spotted this pregnancy as well,  and everything looks ok.
