Throw up vs spit up?

How do you know the difference if your baby is throwing up or spitting up? My son is almost 7 months.

Throw up is more than a tablespoon, our pediatrician said. Spit up can also come out with dribble, usually right after eating, and throw up has force, like after a burp at any time.

Our pediatrician described it as throwing up is a lot more and like will forcefully project out vs spit up which is typically less and will come up without much force behind it. My LO spit up until he was almost a year old.
