Trying to sit up??

Question

My 14 week old looks like she's trying to sit up. When she's seated our lying at a slant, she lifts her head and shoulders as if she's doing crunches or trying to sit up. Is this normal for her age?

It’s totally normal. She’s not trying to sit up but she’s trying to be able to see more. 
We as adults don’t sit up out of this position (try laying on the floor and then try to sit up as you’d normally do - you’d probably do it from a side position supporting yourself with an arm ). 
She just tries to see more, and it means it’s high time to spend more awake periods on the floor on her tummy. She soon will be able to see more supporting herself on her stomach with her arms extended, and simultaneously strengthen her core in preparation for crawling
