My mom sends my brother with me to go downtown

My mom believes downtown is too dangerous for a girl my age and sends my 18 year old brother with me but really... It makes no sense. My brother can't fight worth shit. I have been in several fights with grown ass man and won. Plus my brother has trauma and is paranoid and with how he carries himself a rapist isn't gonna look at my brother and think "Oh shit I can't rape her". They're gonna look at him and think "Oooh he's terrified and weak. I can rape both of them". I'm get my mom wants to keep me safe, but she's just setting off my brother's paranoia for no reason. We almost got mugged a few nights ago and my brother literally started crying and I pulled my gun on this guy. I really think my mom should stop worrying about me because I can take care of myself. I'm literally 22 and more intimidating than my 18 yo brother.

@Michelle I completely understand but my brother's got too much trauma and his two paranoid to be traveling at night anyway downtown and I wish my mom understood that.

@Briabella yes I almost got mugged and my brother was NO HELP ONCE SO EVER! He started crying. I saved us from getting mugged. There's no point in her retraumatizing my brother. He is more like likely to be assaulted down stairs because he carries himself as a scared paranoid child. This isn't me hating on my brother but him being there didn't stop that guy from trying to mug us. He didn't protect us. I protected us.
