Has anyone had a friends with benefits/hookup turn into a relationship?

I see this happening a lot these days. People having sex on the first date. A friends with benefits. A hookup.
But I’m curious: does anyone know anyone (or themselves) where this ever turned into something more, like a relationship?
I keep seeing people having sex and “going with the flow” with somebody they are seeing.
Im old lol and times have changed so just curious haha

I think that’s a lot of STDS , heartbreak, and you’ll end up with ya know a lot of ppl in your area … but it is definitely possible… I know it’s old school but you avoid a lot by just dating and seeing if you guys enjoy each other company first … like go bowling or amusement park or whatever… y’all pay for yourselves first date and who ever invites the other out again pays lol and go from there

I mean, with my current partner it started off more casual… I was just out of a 3 year, fairly manipulative relationship and I wasn’t keen to dive right back into something at that moment, but I knew I had a connection to him that we needed to pursue. 
If I’m honest though, I think we both knew it was going to be serious and long term within hours/days after we started up. We just had this connection that it was impossible for us to ignore. Granted I also got pregnant a few weeks later so it got serious fast too 😂 I don’t recommend that part lol luckily it worked out for the best for us though. We got married when our son was 9 months old, so we had been together for a little over a year and a half.

Unfortunately friends with benefits and hook up situations you can’t go into them hoping that they’re going to turn into a relationship, people have intentions from the beginning, sometimes people like the benefits but don’t want the responsibility of the drama that comes with a relationship, they have no intention of committing to you. You have to remember that friends with benefits means that you’re good enough to have sex with but you’re not good enough to be in a relationship with. A lot of times you end up using taken advantage of, you lose the friend you lose the lover because it’s too hard to see them move on MoveOn. Because in reality they Owe you nothing. You’re not in a relationship, they can sleep with whoever they want to, unless you have some kind of agreement that you don’t sleep with other people. You know within the first five minutes of meeting someone, especially a man, how they see you, is there somebody I can have a relationship with, is this somebody I can have fun with.  And unfortunately as women, we are taught that we’re supposed to treat a man like your husband, for a man who doesn’t want to be a husband, and unfortunately women tend to get attached easily, they tend to get feelings and want more, and when those feelings are not reciprocated, it ends in heartbreak or like I said you feeling used and taken advantage of. If you can separate sex from feelings, if you can not get attached, then knock yourself out. But if you’re somebody who gets attached easily, or wants more, it may not be the best situation for you. You can’t go into it thinking it’s going to be more, when that person already has it in their mind that they have no intention of becoming more. You both have to be on the same page. Sometimes things do happen and it does become more, but don’t bank on that from day one.

I’ve had 2. My first one we were quite serious about keeping it strictly friends with benefits but we both realized how much we liked each other. We set strict rules but kept breaking those rules. My second one was also going to be just friends with benefits and next thing you know I’m meeting his family, we kept hanging out EVERYDAY, and started dating a month after…here we are 5 years later promise rings, still dating and a beautiful daughter ❤️

We met on a night out for the first time, he was a friend of a friend so I knew he wasn't a serial killer or anything, went home with him the night we met (I'd never ever done that before), started off casual as he was going to be away for work and I wasn't looking for anything...turns out we weren't very good at that plan as we've now been together 8 years, married for 1 and I'm due any day with our first baby. My old fwb would tell people we were in a relationship. He would say that he loved me and all this other crap. We definitely weren’t doing anything other than having sex. It wasn’t even that frequent. When the pandemic and lockdowns started I didn’t see him for about 5months. He didn’t even text me once. I bumped into him after the first lockdown and he was acting like nothing had changed and still trying to get his leg over… i was happy he was ok but i was angry that Id not heard from him in months, id had no idea how he was coping with lockdown and after that I couldn’t even see him as a friend anymore. 
However my friends relationship started as FWB and within 6months they were living together they got engaged that xmas and had a baby the year afterwards, they’ve now been together 5 years and have 3 kids.

I am 24 right now, when I was 19-20 I had a friend that eventually turned into hooking up & I honestly don’t really know when it turned into a relationship but we did end up dating. We were casual for a year , then dated for a few months & broke up. 3 years passed & we reconnected & now we have been dating for a year & have a baby on the way. I’m not really someone to hook up or do “fwb”. For me, this all felt so natural .. we fell into being interested in each other & I have never loved anyone more. almost felt / feels meant to be. I’ve never experienced this w anyone else. It started out w no romantic attraction & over time that grew for us. while we were broken up I dated a few guys & nobody compared to him for me. It was the one I least expected.
