Would you be offended by this?

Went to meet my BF's family at a family party, and we were talking about this really cool dating game show that is filmed in the city that involves dancing. It's a dancing competition, and the last two standing get to go on a date.

My BF pretty much did not talk the whole night because he didn't know everyone and he was nervous too. I was nervous meeting his whole family at once because I have social anxiety and sometimes look really uncomfortable when I do, but tried talking to his sister and some other guests. I guess his sister was trying to bring him in the dating game conversation and said, "Oh, you should join!" to my BF in front of everyone. We are in a relationship. So I didn't know what to say so I just kept so I just turned to talk to my BF and asked him, "Oh that's cool, do you dance?"

Good save.

Im not sure if she said this because she doesn't like me, or if because my BF was shy too. Would you be offended by this? Or do you think it was a mistake?
