So my partner (M) and I (F) have been sexually active with each other for about two years now. While we are open in conversation about our sex life, we don’t explore aspects of different positions. (Like up until a few months ago all we would do is missionary, lift a leg, ya know? Now we occasionally throw in doggy style but that’s it.) 
Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy the sex, and I appreciate how attentive he is with my needs in the bedroom. However, I want to explore different positions with him. I’ve brought it up a few times but it seems to put him off. He’s just nervous to try some, or is afraid he won’t like it as much as I do. (Or vice versa)
