UPDATE : Help with hotel cancellation! (Priceline)

I made arrangements to stay with family when we visit them but my husband wasn’t aware and had booked us a hotel with Priceline. This trip is not for another 2 weeks so we have plenty of time…. Problem is, the hotel is non-refundable. Now I’m ok with staying at the hotel but the family we are visiting is offended since they were expecting us to stay with them.

How do you cancel a non refundable hotel with Priceline? I’ve googled this and nothing helpful came up. Anyone have any success stories ? Thanks!
