Do you get along with your inlaws?

I've heard so many horror stories on here about people's inlaws. What's your experience? How do you maintain a healthy marriage/relationship with constant problems and stress when it comes to your so's family? I can't seem to find a leveled way  to deal with them and it seems my marriage is going to fail.

I love my husbands dad, he’s an easy going little old man that loves to chat. My husbands mom makes my skin crawl. I deal with her by completely blocking her off my phone and social media and not allowing her around my kid lol

Mine are fine.
Setting and maintaining clear boundaries is key. If that doesn’t work, low or no contact is always a valid option. Couples therapy with your partner to ensure you are on the same page is really important too.

I wouldn't of got married if my in-laws didn't like me.
They call me their daughter. I love my in-laws. 
I grew up watching my grandma and mom not get along, I couldn't live that way.

I used to care a lot about my MIL not liking me. But I married my husband not her. Everyone else has no problem with me. 
Boundaries were set and we just stay civil to keep the peace. I’m fine with it. I can’t make anyone like me.

On the surface, we can be pleasant to each other but in reality my In Laws are super toxic and we can’t wait to move FAR away from as soon as possible. They openly criticize my husband and I, and constantly bash things that are important to us (my MIL even had the gall to make jokes about our miscarriage and losing our first child). They’re also super two faced and make things about them; it’s always drama and a crisis. I married my husband; not his family.

I like my MIL but not FIL. he’s a disturbed man and all his kids are distant from him including his wife. She doesn’t want to stay with him but he’s ill so she takes care of him. He’s a bit strange… however that doesn’t reflect who my husband is Bc he’s completely different than him and acknowledges it. I do wish I had a closer relationship with them. I really wanted a bigger family but oh well

No I didn't get along with my MIL. Still married her son & we've been together for 12 years. She passed away 5 years ago though.

I get along with my in laws now because I started going to therapy and realized that I was the problem, not them. 🤷‍♀️
