Is it frowned upon to take your 1 year old (or less) trick or treating?

Someone in a mom group on Facebook said the people wouldn’t hand out candy for her son (he was dressed up) I believe he is 6 months old. 
How do you feel about it?

I’d totally hand out candy to new parents with a baby! I miss not being able to trick or treat because I’m “too old” so we’re totally going to be taking our baby around next year when she’s only 11 months. I think you gotta be pretty bitter to deny candy just because the kid isn’t old enough to eat any of it.

There’s no age limit to trick or treating! 
I’d rather people be trick or treating than drinking and driving! 
People are ridiculous! These new parents we’re excited for their child’s first Halloween! Indulge them!

I had one old man refuse to give candy to my 2 yr old son that gave some to my 3 yr old daughter. She just took some of hers to give to her brother because he cried. Some people are just jerks but it's known that babies go and get candy too even if mom and dad get to keep it cause they have no teeth ect.. Lol its all fun.

I give candy to anyone who comes to my door. Halloween is about fun and imagination. I don’t care if someone comes to my door and isn’t dressed up - enjoy the candy and keep the young mindset.

That’s messed up. I would absolutely give candy to the new parents.. why not? If they are dressed up and have a bucket, that’s so rude for people to say no when they come to the door. We took our 1.5 year old out this year and he gots lots of candy, even tho he was in the stroller half the time. We took him last year too and he got a little candy.

I took my 1 year old , with his toddler sisters, and everyone (mostly elderly) gave him something they believed he could eat . Like those cheese puff balls etc. I dont believe it’s inappropriate at all

I think people need to get over themselves. Trick or treating is meant to be fun. They’re showing off their cute baby and getting candy. People are so freaking ridiculous.

It’s about the experience for you as parents, not giving the baby candy. Definitely wouldn’t think it’s frowned upon!

No! Babies benefit from community activity and seeing all the other kids, meeting neighbors, etc. it’s not like parents are actually feeding the babies candy. It’s just for practice

Those people were not normal. I couldn’t imagine having a parent with their new baby all dressed up for the holiday come trick or treating and deny them.
