Why is my vagina peeling??

The past 3 days my vagina has been extremely irritated, itchy slightly sore. I noticed as I squatted over a mirror it was white patch sort of in my vagina opening as if the skin was peeling. No smell at all so I was thinking maybe a yeast infection? I’ve never had a yeast infection before and if I did it was extremely mild and didn’t last long so I didn’t notice it. I started my period earlier and when I went to change my tampon I noticed skin all around the base of my tampon? The soreness is gone , still a bit itchy but not as much. What could this be? I have been sexually active. Could have been Bc of the friction cause from rough sex and a condom? Even though that was last week could it be symptoms from that and it’s just beginning to heal so it’s itchy? Or could this be an allergic reaction to latex? I’m lost here 😩
