Could it be Endometriosis?

Marisa

Hi everyone. I’m hoping to get some answers and support here. I was diagnosed with PCOS in September after not having a period since May. Prior to that I had been on BC for 10 years and never had any issues. I went off of BC to do a round of IVF to freeze my eggs. I decided after to not go back on BC. I had 5 normal periods after IVF, then nothing.

I went to the Doctor and had blood work and an ultrasound done. I have high levels of testosterone and many cysts on my ovaries. However, I’ve been experiencing a constant state of pain and discomfort in my pelvic region. It’s hard to explain but the discomfort also involves a pressure feeling and sometimes expands up to my abdomen. At first I was thinking it was the ovarian cysts that were bothering me, but women that I have talked to with PCOS haven’t said they experience the pelvic issues I have been having: I also have experienced pain with sex.

My question is do my symptoms sound like endometriosis? I would also like to hear from any women that suffer from both endometriosis and PCOS.

Can endometriosis be detected with an MRI verses only through surgery? I really don’t want to have to go through surgery for a diagnosis.
