My mom lives 1,500 miles away from my sister & I. My sister just gave birth to baby #5 & didn’t tell our mom at all that she was pregnant until AFTER the baby was born because my sister knew she would react negatively & she just wanted to enjoy her pregnancy without our mom being rude. Mom was obviously pissed but got over it, met him last month.

I just found out yesterday morning that I’m pregnant with baby #3. I considered doing what my sister did but ultimately decided to just go ahead & tell her. I called her, we had a conversation, she reacted exactly how I thought she would (not excited at all). We hang up & then we have this conversation:

Then she wonders why my sister never told her about her pregnancy 😑

She reacted similarly to my other 2 kids as well. She’s just a negative Nancy. I expected it but… ugh. It’s kinda upsetting when your own mom isn’t excited for you to have another baby (that was wanted!).

Edit to add: my sister & I are both happily married! My kids all have the same dad & all of her kids have the same dad. She has no logical reason to be upset except for the fact that she’s a negative nancy.
