Suggestion for good calcium supplement during nursing?

Hi everyone! I am 5 months into nursing and realize that I need a good calcium supplement, does anyone have a favorite/suggestions for which brand to take? Thank you so much

I have nursed both my girls and have worked with 4 different IBCLCs and not one of them suggested I needed to take a calcium supplement. Only a pre or post natal vitamin.

Do nursing mothers need additional calcium?
No. Pregnant and nursing mothers do not need additional calcium other than that normally required for their age group. The Institute of Medicine recommends that nursing mothers over the age of 18 consume 1,000 mg. of calcium daily — the same as other adults.

I take a calcium-magnesium supplement by PeaPod. You can order it on amazon! It’s specifically for pregnant and postpartum moms. My prenatal does not contain enough calcium and since my son has a cows milk protein allergy I need the extra calcium. I still do not hit the 1,000mg recommendation with both my prenatal and the supplement. It was approved by baby’s pediatrician and we haven’t had any issues! Without it I have the worse leg cramps and joint pains.

Suggestion for good calcium supplement during nursing?
