I don't understand why the lice is so bad

Me and my man, his child's mother, and his child, are all staying in his apartment right now because his mom was watching his daughter during the day while he worked and neglected to fucking tell him that she has a HORRIFIC lice infestation.

When she FINALLY said something,

She told me and my so "I treated her hair and I couldn't find anything in it."

Well, mom (his child's mom) had been over. So I told her we had lice and she came back to help me clean and treat the apartment and ourselves for lice.

We have been.. treating the lice on this child's head for 2 fucking days.

We treated each others heads which weren't bad. The CHILDS HEAD, however, had it BAD. There were literally little bunches and groups of lice in some spots on her head where they were just eating at her scalp.

Her mother sat for HOURS yesterday treating and combing out LIVE lice some as big as FLEAS. I mean she literally combed out every inch I sat and watched her.

HOW DOES SHE STILL HAVE BUGS IN HER HAIR? Tonight before bath she went through her head again and found more and we are both like HOW. HOW WTF. Today we put Mayo in her hair and wrapped a bag over her head to suffocate them and we sprayed some tea tree oil on it (you can't use the lice shampoo and tea tree oil on the scalp so it's just like on her hair and not her scalp)

Me and my so are still also combing bugs out of our hair too. I found a one in his ex's hair.

Like we have washed EVERYTHING. We bought the spray and have sprayed everything that's cloth with lice killer.

WE ARE KINDA LOSING OUR FUCKING MINDS AND I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS NORMAL FOR A LICE INFESTATION because when I was little and had lice my mom did everything we have done and had it gone in like a day. I'm really at a loss

No she's not going back to her grandmas. Idk why she lied or like didn't fucking see the massive amount of bugs in this child's hair or why my so didn't see it when bathing her but we are all kinda mad she neglected to tell us for so long BECAUSE NOW WE ALL HAVE BUGS IN OUR HAIR AND WE ARE SECLUDING OURSELVES AND IT ITCHES AND THE CHILD GOT THE SHIT END OF THE STICK TOO. Poor kid having to sit for hours as her mother picks bugs out of her head
