Oat/rice cereal at 4 months? Did you do it or no?

My baby is now 4 months and I want to start her on organic oat cereal or whole grain rice cereal. Did you do it or didnt do it? Why? FTM here doing research!

No!! Cereal especially rice is not healthy nor nutritious. Not advised to feed anymore. 
All solids regardless of what they are should not be started until 6m old. That is the recommendation from all major health orgs.

Not necessary and no longer recommended by major pediatric organizations. Best to start at or after 6 months, when baby’s gut is ready and baby is sitting up totally unassisted.

Wait until 6m so their digestive tract is mature. There is no need for anything other than formula or breast milk before 6m. Then if your child is showing readiness, sitting up on their own, interest in food, tongue reflex is gone, then give them some. But there also is much nutritional value to them anyways unless mixed with milk or formula. A lot of people start it earlier because they think it’ll help babies sleep longer, when in reality sleeping longer is a developmental milestone unrelated to food.

Cereal really isn't recommended anymore. No nutritional value and the rice type has a lot of arsenic, linked to cancer. Our pediatrician called it "junk food". 
We wait until 6 months and do BLW. 
Babies can get full without food. Without cereal. I know a lot of people think it helps them sleep or something. Both my kids are breastfed (so they eat more frequently) and both dropped night feeds and slept 12 hours through the night by 5-5.5 months.

I waited until 6 months and went straight to food. Completely skipped all the rice cereal things and purees. We did baby led weaning and it has been a beautiful journey with food for us.
Definitely get your doctor's okay first before introducing solids.

Nope I never did with my son. We waited until he was 6 months and did baby led weaning. He’s a healthy and thriving 2 and a half year old.

My baby stopped taking milk around 4 and half months so I started inteoducing Aptamil baby rice, than baby porridge
There are very good books with meal plans for starting weaning
