My boyfriend and I don’t see eye to eye on certain topics. Long story short we have two dogs and when they were puppies he would scare them into submission, and in my eyes abuse them a lot. He’s been away most of the time for work so I’ve been taking care of them and giving them lots of love and they’re amazing dogs because of it. He does love the dogs but He doesn’t do it anymore mostly because he’s not home enough otherwise I feed he still would. Last night he was talking to one of the dogs saying how they’re so strong because they had a hard life. I said something like if we were to get dogs in the future then that’s not the way to go about training. As usual he got defensive and was going on about that all dogs/animals/even children need to get smacked once in a while. Even though back then what he did was much more than smacking them. Now I’m questioning whether or not I want to even have children with this person despite that being our plan since we live together. He has also been very physical with me before choked me out and punched my stomach slap me etc. Any advice?
