Menstrual cups and the steam

So, I bought the Organic Cup mini

thinking it would be a great experience and what happens is that the steam feels soooooo uncomfortable. I trimmed it 2 times and it stills feels like it’s hurting my hooh-ha. I can’t sit, lay down and neither bend because I feel like I have a knife down there. I’m scared to cut it all since I worry that i won’t be able to take it out… CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME!

You may have a low sitting cervix, you can take this quiz to decide what sort of cup you need(but I recommend looking for one similar enough that is vegan and cruelty free. I was recommended the Lily Cup B because I have a high cervix, so I checked if it was vegan then looked for a different cup for high cervixes which lead me to the Juju Cup type 3... or was it C? 3 or C).

If it’s hurting you to the point it feels like a knife you definitely don’t have it in correctly.  You don’t really need the stem either though it makes it easier. I just grab my cup from the sides when I’m taking it out and then just wash my hands or continue my shower because I change it in the shower sometimes too. I feel like gripping it from the sides is more stable and prevents any spills instead of pulling on a stem. I have had times where it wasn’t in far enough but even then it never felt like it was hurting me just annoying that I can feel it. Seems more like user error than the stem issue.

If you feel it, I have a feeling it may not be in right. I haven’t used this particular menstrual cup but I remember having discomfort with mine until i figured out how to get it in comfortable. 
Are you folding inward so it’s a u-shape and inserting high into your vagina? Making sure it “pops” open so it covers your cervix? When you slide your finger around it it should feel completely smooth and round. I’m thinking maybe you’re not pushing it in high enough for it to sit where it belongs and therefore the stem is poking at you?
