This is my second born, Emmett 💙

He was due on 12/15/21, but arrived on 9/12/21 at 26+4 weeks. I woke up just before midnight on 9/2 to pee, and discovered I was laying in a pool of amniotic fluid. My water had broken. I made my husband stay home with our daughter while I drove myself to the ER. They gave me a round of steroids & magnesium. I was then airlifted 1.5hrs away to a hospital with a level III NICU, should I have gone into labor. I was able to stay pregnant for a little over a week. The day of his birth, I suddenly started having intense cramping and contractions. After monitoring his heart rate, it dropped significantly during a contraction. I was rushed for an emergency c-section where they also discovered I had complete placental abruption. From the time the cramping & contractions started until they got him out and I was waking up from anesthesia, was just a little over an hour. It happened extremely fast.

He weighed 1lb 14.6oz and was 13.5in long at birth, and is now 4lbs 8oz and 18in long. He’s doing amazing! He just turned 2 months old on 11/12 (currently 35 weeks & 6 days gestational age adjusted), and just started bottle feeding. We are hoping to have him home by his due date!
