So, I was googling to see if you can get at-home pregnancy blood tests (yes, you can), and ended up coming across a medical article saying that you can use whole blood in a urine pregnancy test, but that it just takes a bit longer to read results (because blood is thicker than urine and moves slower).

My husband is a diabetic, so we have insulin syringes (yes, they're sterile) at home. So, I played phlebotomist (used my alcohol prep pad and everything), and drew my own blood out of my arm, right where they normally draw blood.

Test came back negative (I think, its hard to tell because the blood began to separate). But hey, I tried. The control line was there though.

If I'm feeling brave and stupid in the future when I know I'm pregnant, I might do it again... for science. Lol

Anyone else do something stupid?
