Contacting Employer on Indeed?

Question

I applied for this amazing job on Indeed today. You know how you see a job and think “THAT’S FOR ME!!”?! That’s where I’m at. This is the job for me. Of course there are hundreds and hundreds of other applicants. Indeed used to give you the option for certain applications to contact the employer and express your interest. I want to do that. I guess it’s an option that the employer chooses to have…so I don’t want to bug them if they don’t want to be contacted, but AHHHHH! 😳hahahahahelppp

Growing up I was taught to always do a follow up call after putting in an application for work to at least make sure it was received, and to do so 1-2 days after. As a manager now I don’t see it as a bother at all, it shows initiative and a sincere desire to work! It’s not a bother to know that someone actually wants the job. 
In the past month my work has had doe end of applicants but the majority don’t even answer when we reach out to them and several have flaked on showing up for an interview. A lot of businesses are dealing with this so it should be a blessing for any employer to know someone is so willing they would call to follow up!
