I’m 20 & 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

A few weeks ago, my fiancé and I decided the first name for my baby but not middle name. We told his mom the name and she said she didn’t like it and gave us a list of names we could use instead. She said the names she picked were names she wanted to use when she wanted a girl, but she has all boys. I told her I like those names (when i really didn’t) but I didn’t plan on using any of those names because we wanted to come up with our own name. She called me selfish and said it’s not just my baby it’s our baby and she don’t want her to have that "ugly" name. I told her ok and I would probably change it and use the name she gave me.

She text me and asked could I change it I told her I didn’t want to and I really liked the name. She called my fiancé and he immediately tried to go in another room and I followed him because I wanted toners what she had to say, she called me a bitch, said we were being selfish and started crying and asking could we please change it. I left the room and after he got off the phone he asked could we just change the middle name for her and agreed she should be able to choose her name too. I told him no I really didn’t want to and plus we already announced it.

He called me selfish too and said everything doesn’t have to always be about me and go the way I want it to go.

Have anyone had this problem before? How did you handle it, idk what to do anymore. I want them to be happy but also I love my baby’s name.
