Unsuccessful

Am

So I tried pumping with my last 2 kids not as a sole form of feeding, I loved breastfeeding and did EBF.

My issue was no matter what my body would not release to a pump. I tried haaka manual, Medela both the one I got through insurance and the hospital grade and a manual. After 3 years of breastfeeding and working with a lactation consultant I still could not get milk with a pump. And only ever fed via EBF.

Hand expression was fine but let's get real I wasn't going to sit there forever hand expressing.

This time (currently 35+5w) my insurance finally covers the spectra S2 so I'm super excited to have that option. My OB has suggested I use a pump to collect she wanted me to start 3 weeks ago but I just called today to order my pump, if it's successful.

I do plan to EBF but she wants me to use the pump to collect colostrum for the hospital in case baby doesn't latch. This way we can be released as planned (busy Ward, and 12/22 C-section) without being forced to give formula.

My question is..... are there any of you pumping mom's that didn't have success with a Medela or manual pumps but did with the spectra? Any words of advice.
