Birth plan ???

Question

I’s it necessary to have a birth plan? 
I know there is a few things I would like to happen but I know nothing ever goes as plan. 
I know I want dim lights, I don’t want to be on my back, and some slow calm music to keep me calm, I’m attempting to go all natural, and delaying cord clamping. 
Do you women have any plans or expectations?

A birth plan can include as much or as little information as you want. It’s especially difficult to make a birth plan for your first pregnancy. It really only needs to include a general outline of what you are expecting and can also include a lot of things you are open to or things you know you don’t want.

I made one and now I have to throw it out the window if he doesn’t come before my induction date. I was hoping for a water birth but he’s 7 pounds right now with a projection to be 8 by the time I have him at 39 weeks 3 days. So if he’d like to come earlier than that I’ll stick with my birth plan but so far nothing pointing to labor. He’s my first child so if he decided to stay until 40 weeks or more his weight projection would be 9-10 pounds and I’d have to have a c section

I made one with my midwife at 36weeks. I wouldn't call it a plan though but more like my preferences/things that ideally I would like to happen. 🙂

Those are good wishes. I didn't have a "plan" but when I walked in, I just told them what I invisioned (which if course went out the window). But yes have a plan, let your birthing partner know you wishes so they can be your advocate when you're in pain x

I absolutely think you can have a birth plan. At least you can start out your labor how you’d like and if it plans change, they change. I think your list is perfectly doable
