I told his child's mother about us TTC

Disclaimer: this is not tea. My so's child's mother and I get along VERY well. I literally love her like a sister. It took some work but we got here.

She has always made comments like "I cant wait until yall have babies." And "you're gonna be such a good momma. You're a good step momma." Like she's excited about it, she wants siblings for her daughter.

My so and I talked about it. I want a baby, he wants a baby, and within the next year I will get my IUD removed and we will be TTC. We were talking last night and I told her about it and she was like "OOOH MY GOD REALLY!! FINALLY!" And I was like "girl as soon as that baby pops out I'm calling you and I'm gonna show you your daughters new baby sibling like you will be the first to know."

And she was like "oh my god OH MY GOD! ID LOVE TO! Oh my GOD she's gonna have a baby brother or sister!" And she was jumping up and down.

Then I noticed a shift in her mood, her face changed. And I looked at her and I said "what's wrong? Did I upset you?" She was like "no, I am happy. Can I be honest with you?" And I said of course. She said "I'm scared that when you two have a baby, he'll forget about our daughter or love her less. That's what im afraid of." And I said "oh my god that will not happen. He loves his daughter and would die for her in a second. He would literally throw my ass off a bridge if it meant saving her life and he loves me." And she started laughing. I said "you know what I'm scared of? That he won't love my baby like he loves his first baby. So im a little scared too." And she got teary eyed and leaned over and hugged me and said "oh no mommas, he is a good daddy and he WILL love that baby. You don't have to worry about that, I promise you that." And I said "we will all love all the babies." And she laughed. Tbh we both got teary eyed because we both opened up about our fears and faced the elephant in the room.

And it was a genuine, beautiful heart to heart moment. I fucking live and breathe the healthy relationship we all have with each other and I'll always fight for that.
