Would you be able to stay in a relationship for 12+ years and be okay with not getting any gifts for any holidays/special occasions?

I mean small gestures and gifts simple as 5 dollar flowers and or food means a lot to me.  There random but my husband knows it would make my day. He has to know that you like a gift everyone once in a while. 12 years is a long time for nothing but if love is there is it something that means a lot? Tell him how u feel and what it would mean to you

I don't need gifts but just showing love by maybe cooking, cleaning  saying I love you. Stuff like that will do. We really don't do gifts. Been together 16 yrs hasn't bothered us yet. We just show love for each other in other ways I guess

Its not a big deal to me at all. Sometimes he'll surprise me with a couple gifts, sometimes well just pick some things out together that we each want, but its not usually anything too crazy. Mostly I'd rather spend time together, just watch Christmas movies, maybe go on a trip or have a nice dinner. But thats my love language. Look up love languages and take the quiz!

It all depends. So my Do loves buying for me but is so afraid of getting me the wrong gift. So he lets me make a list and goes off of that list. I never know what he is going to pick so I am okay with that. Have you talked to him?

I'm not a big fan of gifts like jewelry and such. The day to day gestures of picking up chocolate for him when I'm getting some for me and helping around the house means more. Most of the time we don't do birthday gifts, just spending the night together however the other person chooses. We occasionally surprise each other with bigger gifts or showy gifts but it's not necessary.
If your relationship is built on gift giving, you need to re-evaluate your priorities.

I don’t expect to get expensive jewelry or cars or money. Gifts i love from my boyfriend are drawings, songs he creates, and other little things he does for me. That means more to me than any material thing.

My SO and I have been together almost 10 years and I don't ever get anything. we're not even engaged. I'm pregnant with our 3rd child. He's just not romantic at all!!! Nothing ever special but... he brings everything else to the table so I forgive him. I'm literally picking out my own ring right now and forcing him into it because this is just ridiculous. He knows I'm doing it and gave me a budget to work with ha. no romantic surprises here.

We don’t really buy each other gifts in my relationship personally, if we need or want something we just get it. This works for us, it won’t necessarily work for others. 
It’s really important to voice what you need and want in a relationship, and if gifts is part of that your partner should be aware and on the same page.
