Gestational diabetes? Breastfeeding?

Is there any mothers that failed all their gestational diabetes test and did it interfere with you being able to breastfeed?

I failed all my tests and had gestational diabetes. I also delivered 8 weeks early, but I had no issues breastfeeding other than arguing with the NICU to let me breastfeed.

I passed at 20 weeks then failed at 28 weeks. I managed to keep it diet controlled and baby was born with very good sugar levels. I expressed colostrum from 38 wks and took it to hospital. We used it but didn’t really need it. I did have breastfeeding issues but it was because my daughter had lip and tongue ties. We had them lasered when she was 12 days old. Until then we syringe feed initially then got better latching and positioning with help from an IBCLC. She’s never had bottles and is still breastfed now at 22 months.

It typically won't be a problem. But if you have gestational diabetes due to other conditions like pcos there might be a problem - as it's not uncommon for women with pcos to have tubular breasts, hormones all over the place, insulin resistance etc. (Quite a few women, myself included, have oversupply due to pcos too)
