How often should a 5 month old eat?

I wanted to know.. how often do 5 month old babies eat in a day? And how many ounces of it? Should I also start feeding my baby solids now? How would I introduce that?

Anywhere from 24-32 oz is great! My guy takes 5 oz about every 3 hours and usually has one night time meal.
For solids, you’re going to want to see if they’re showing readiness signs. They should be able to hold their head up, sit independently, and no longer automatically push things out of their mouth.
Our pediatrician said to introduce rice cereal first, then vegetables, then meats, and then fruits. After we introduce a new food, we wait 3 days to introduce the next new food. That way, if he has a reaction to something, it’s easy to pinpoint what caused it.
It’s also to remember that before a year old, solid food is just exploration of tastes and textures. Their nutrition should still come from breastmilk or formula. Solids should not replace a feeding yet.

I’m not sure how many ounces but my daughter has 3-4 oz ever 2-2.5 hours and has 2 night feedings. As for solids we did start solids at exactly 4 months with the ok from her pediatrician. We did not start with cereal , just regular purées. Make sure it says 4 months on the bottle since baby isn’t 6 months yet. And only do one type of food per week. My daughter loves it and even takes the spoon from me to feed herself. We only do it once a day.

We got the ok at 4 months. We mix formula with rice cereal and a puree per meal. I don't push it though, as another person already said, it's just to learn at this point, everything still is expected to come from formula
