Severe baby acne?

1 month old.. day 3 of her skin like this. It’s only on her face. Has anyone seen this before? Our ped is stumped. Could it be cradle cap on face or just really bad baby acne? Thanks in advance.  One photo with flash & one without.

It definitely looks like erythema toxicum but also a reaction to something. Are you using any creams? Is she exclusively breast fed. I’d be getting a second opinion ASAP.

My friend had the same thing with her newborn. Turns out eczema is an adverse reaction to the Hep b shot her daughter got at birth. Here’s a good resource with the FDA manufacturer insert linked that may help narrow down any potential symptoms:

Baby acne is normally cleared up by a month old with it peaking around 2 weeks old. That looks more like eczema

My first baby broke out pretty bad only on her face and it turned out to be a reaction to our detergent. We had been washing her stuff in gentle baby detergent but hadn’t thought about having to wash our own clothes and sheets in it too since she was coming into contact with it daily.

My son had the same thing. Only lasted a few days though and went away on its own.
