How long do your breast-feeding sessions last?

My baby loves to breast-feed on one side and then is too sleepy by the time we switch boobies and won’t drink from the other side. Then I feel like a failure because I feel like he’s not getting enough milk. How long do you breast-feed on each side? I always aim for 15 minutes each side but that doesn’t always happen. Or should I do one side per session?

I never switched sides. Just because your baby isn't nursing on the other side doesn't mean they aren't getting full! Your milk regulates to produce how much baby needs on each side. :)

I never switch sides unless its at night and i go back in 10-15 mins after she goes down. As long as he isnt showing signs of hunger he isnt hungry. One side might be more than enough for him. I know for me one side can hold 5-6oz when its not full which is more than enough

I only do one side for 7 minutes and babe is full. 
I’d reach a lactation consultant and ask them to observe and advise. I had several appointments with lactation consultants and they said that my baby is very efficient at sucking out the milk from my breast so I don’t even need to switch sides. He gets the recommended amount of milk each feeding and 3-6 dirty diapers and 6-8 wet diapers a day so I’m not worried.  :)

I only switch sides if baby pops off on his own. Then I burp him and switch sides. My baby usually nurses for less than 15 minutes total. Babies are very efficient at removing the milk so I’m  never concerned. Both my babies were/are chunky.
