Dropping a nap
I think my daughter might be ready to go from 2 naps to 1 nap a day as she’s been fighting her naps lately.
Today it took her 40 minutes to fall asleep for her morning nap. She’s 13 months old.
The thing is, I feel like I’m not ready for her to go from 2 to 1 nap.
She won’t nap for more than an hour, maybe an hour and 15 minutes at a time, even if she just does 1 nap a day and no matter what I try she won’t nap longer than that.
Her naps are my quiet time where I can tidy and watch tv or just play on my phone. It’s like a reset and recharge for me and I feel like I need those 2 hour breaks in the day or I get frustrated and impatient.
I do notice though that if we do try just the 1 nap a day she’s fussy and tired in the morning and evenings still.
I’m wondering if she’s just fighting naps cause she’s teething or growing and still needs both naps, or if she’s ready to drop to 1 nap and it’ll just be an adjustment.
If my husband is home and can keep her busy it’s not has hard to do the 1 nap, but if I’m home alone all day it feels like the longest stretches of time between naps with just the 1!
How did you cope dropping to just 1 nap? How did you know it was time to drop to 1?
