Advice for a small inexpensive wedding

I just got engaged and I'm starting to think about how to plan this wedding. We want a small wedding and would like to keep the cost down as much as we can. We both don't see the point in splurging so much money on one day and would rather put more money into saving for a home. The most important thing to us is celebrating our day with the people that we love. Any advice you have on wedding planning and keeping the cost down would be greatly appreciated.

Also here's my ring since I'm excited to show it off, it is my grandmothers ring she gave to my partner to give to me so it's very meaningful. We are going to a jeweler tomorrow to get it resized and cleaned ☺️
