Do you ignore friends if you’re unwell (mentally or physically) if they keep texting you?

I have an injury that I’ve been resting for the past two days and my friend keeps texting me random nonsense. Like screen shots of Facebook wanting to gossip about people we know or like minor annoyances at her job. I respond maybe once or twice a day but mostly I’ve just been resting. I’m finding it so annoying. She knows I’m in pain. Why would I care about what Ashley from high school said on Facebook?

I don’t open it if I’m not in the mood to talk right that second. I think it’s extremely rude to open a message and not say anything. But I’ll reply eventually, and usually my friends will pick up if I’m being a dry tester I don’t want to talk.

I mean if it’s someone I talk to often then I don’t just ignore them. However I don tell them that I am resting and won’t be responding much.
