What would you do if you were me?
I have two kids, a boy and a girl, both 2 years old (not twins, but 10 months apart, one just turned two, the other one will be 3 next month)
I’m doing Christmas shopping, and I am contemplating just getting them stuff just to share, as opposed to individual gifts.
My reasoning is they really like the same things. My son will play with my daughters dolls, while my daughter plays with his trucks. She prefers the dolls, and he prefers the trucks, but they do go back and forth. I just bought so many things for my daughter, and I’m like eh maybe I should give this to my son, he would actually probably like it more, and Vice versus. Plus all the toys go in the playroom and they play with everything, and everything is already theres
Then there’s somethings I know they will both love and will end up fighting over- Like I bought this little cat on a leash that walks (they are both obsessed with cats) so I bought two of them bc I know they will fight. So about 4 things I already did buy two of
Some people think it’s weird I’m doing a “group gift” and they should have things of their own. I do get that, but at this age, does it really matter? There’s so many things that my son got and my daughter plays with more, and so many things my son got that my daughter plays with more. I think it’s just easier to get a bunch of stuff that they share.
So right now I’m just doing a group gifts, and some things two of. Is that weird?
