Dual military with kids

So my husband is national guard and we have two sons together. I have been thinking about joining also. It’s something that I thought about doing for a very long time and my husband is telling me to go for it. I started talking to an active duty recruiter and they ended up screwing me over by switching my mos in the system, not giving me the bonuses they promised and other stuff. They were super unprofessional about their job and had no idea what they were doing. Same with the meps I went to, they sat there making fun of my husband for being national guard and because his ASVAB score was way lower than mine. So I started talking to my husbands national guard recruiter and he’s setting me up. Has anyone been dual military with kids? Can you give me any input on how it is? I would love to eventually switch to active later on.
