Should I get an ultrasound this weekend or wait until OB appt in January?

I’m 15 weeks and I was hoping to find out the gender at our appt last week but we didn’t get a formal ultrasound or genetic testing. I found a place that does ultrasounds that guarantees gender identification as long as you’re 14+ weeks and is only $55 but part of me feels like it’s too early so our next appt will be more accurate. But what are y’all’s thoughts??? I’m too indecisive 😭

Me personally... I'd go but I am also so impatient. I literally just had my first OB appointment this week at 14 w 4 d and they did an ultrasound and we definitely both saw boy parts. The doctor said it looks like a boy but she wouldn't guarantee her whole paycheck on that. I did the bloodwork same day and should know this week gender for sure. If I didn't do the blood work, I probably would go to a private ultrasound sooner! But that's just me :)

I think it’s best to wait until your tummy is older for a more accurate reading. That’s what I’m doing now also.

Technology has advanced. If you go this weekend they’ll most likely be right with what they say. Both mine were right at 12 weeks exactly
